    A few years ago, when holidaying in the US, my SIL's son had an accident.  At the American A&E, they would not touch him till they saw his parents' credit cards.  TRUE story.

    My own GP surgery is one of the 70 UK GP surgeries taken over by the American insurance firm Centene (through its UK subsidiary Operose).  When that happened 3 GPs left, including my own.  Things have changed in a very palpable way.  Even the Daily Mail has called this company “profit greedy”.

    We need to fight for our NHS, one of the greatest things this country has ever achieved, otherwise we will lose it and future generations will live in fear of becoming ill, like millions of Americans.

    From a born Prince to "influencer", that depresses me.

    However, Matt Taylor just cheered me up.  Watched the latest BBC news where he informed us all that on Wednesday "it'll be the spring equinox".  No winter!  HOORAH!

    Hoorah, indeed!

    It has always fascinated me somewhat that the names of the months or the days of the week start with a capital letter but not the seasons of the year!  Why?

    I expect some "big cheese" used lower case characters, at sometime or other, and it stuck.  Unless it was Samuel Johnson's decision, of course.

    It's not an offence to use capitals!

    I thought I should do my shopping nice and early today, switched on the engine, red light came on.  O dear! Do I join the queues of panic buyers or order a delivery....
