I don't think I have ever seen you angry before, Zoe, but I do understand; things are certainly getting progressively worse and all we are given it seems are excuses and lies.
Spitting blood today: no petrol; blood tests will be done when there are specimen bottles available.....
After posting this, I phoned my surgery to tell them that I could not book a test and that I had been told the booking service would contact me "sometime in the future" to give me a specific appointment but that could be many weeks from now and there was no point in ringing them back myself.
The reception staff, who are absolutely magnificent, told me that they understood the difficulties but thought, "It wouldn't hurt to give them a call every now and again(!)"
This morning, the surgery phoned me to say, "There are bottles available now, so contact them again and book your appointment." So, I booked my appointment for... November 4th.
Unbelievable, an over 5 week wait for a mere blood test. I cannot bear to think what the really sick are enduring:
I have a dream that my.. children.. one day..
will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their
character
Just heard on the radio that the petrol situation is "improving". I truly hope so because some people are behaving madly.
On our long drive home
yesterday, OH felt hungry, so we stopped at a garage where the shop sold some
food. No other shops in the surrounding
area. The queue for petrol was immense
but much shorter for the shop.
When we had to stop, to
our left was a man, probably in his 60s or 70s, short, obese and angry, trying
to intimidate the young lady, who was “controlling” the queue, with his
shouting: he couldn’t wait because he had to be somewhere to do something very
important (I couldn’t quite catch what).
The lady, in a controlled
voice, told him she was sure everybody else had somewhere important to be also
and the best thing to do was to stay in the queue.
He refused to understand,
as he obviously imagined he was the most (if not the only) important person
there. The more the lady, patiently and
politely, ignored his demands, the angrier he became. I really feared he would have a heart attack. Mercifully, we moved forward in the queue and
did not have endure any more of that mad performance.
So sad, that such deluded,
self-important creatures cannot get it into their obtuse heads that others are
at least as important as they are.

Thank you, Zoe; that's good to know. A friend of mine has not been able to get an appointment since August!

Let's all blame COVID, not the self-serving, plotting and planning repellent lot who... lead us.
And there are the Labourers attacking each other. God save us!
