Handsome bird Hosta, and such a lovely view 🏝

Chicklet went to see the new film Bohemian Rhapsody last night, and came home raving.

Just been out viewing greenhouses ......have been wanting to replace mine for a while, and think we might be about to bite the bullet ......very exciting indeed 😀. Weather is glorious here, so time for a quick cuppa and then we are off for a walk round the Punchbowl 😈👹

I hope you have a lovely hot time, Hosta and that the bed is comfy.

I have ordered my new kitchen and, with any luck, it will be installed in January.

We did some gardening this afternoon, OH raked leaves and I weeded a bed by the fence and planted some daffodils. The soil here is a delight after France, black and crumbly, a bit sandy. Neighbour says 10 years ago the garden was planted like an allotment, with lots of veg and fruit and a greenhouse. Now it's mostly lawn with shady beds around the edges. I expect it will be getting new beds with flowers next year!

We are going to the pub down the road for dinner tonight, with friends. Back to France tomorrow.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Evening all.
@chicky - we have a Devil’s Punchbowl near us - it’s in the Brecon Beacons. Maybe there are many in the U.K? I think the Surrey one is the most ‘famous’? Any one else got one??

That's really bonny AuntyR. What was there before - was it constructed from a gravel pit or something? Many of these features have had a previous life  :)
I'm not aware of any punchbowls up here, although we have plenty of Devil's Ridges etc.

I'm going to have a google of Scottish punchbowls now - only trouble is, I think it may bring up something quite different!  :D
Been beautiful here today. Really pleasant in the sun, even though it struggled to reach double figures, as there was no wind. Got a few bits and bobs done outside, and took daughter for a drive as well.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I stand corrected - there's one on Arran, on the eastern side of Goatfell. Couldn't get a pic though :)

There's also one up near Braemar, at Linn of Quoich, although it's not a 'Devil's', but a beautifully scoured piece of rock

I think the Punchbowl in the Brecon Beacons is actually man-made, although in a glacial basin/cirque (or ‘cwm’). A beautiful part of the world.

Our Punchbowl was glowing with autumn colour, but I didn’t take any pictures to share.  How funny that there are many .....although maybe not that surprising given that legends/tales were created all over to explain natural features.

Just been reading about Norwich’s tunnel of lights ....are you planning a reccy Dove?

Norwich tunnel of light thrills visitors http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-46242035

  • Haven’t visited it this year @chicky but in the past I’ve found it a little underwhelming ... but the whole city looked gorgeous all lit up this evening when
i drove to rescue son in a city carpark  cos he’d locked his keys in the boot! good job I have a spare key and even better that he was in Norwich and not London where he’ll be tomorrow   :)
