Joyce I couldn’t get the Scrib Trees website to load but have you ever stopped there? only two miles off the M74 J10 and no I am not on commission! It’s just so much nicer than a service station.

Raining, good. Garden really needs it. My first French friend is coming to lunch today. I met her in '85 but when her husband retired they moved to Brittany. We both took our children to school instead of letting them take the school bus in the hope of meeting other mothers. But most of the other mothers worked and the children took the bus. I found it hard to meet people as I was the foreigner and she found it hard as she was a Countess, living next to her parent's chateau. We've been friends ever since, but rarely see each other now that she's so far away.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That is good news , Flumpy. Avoid Heathrow if you can though. For some reason there were huge piles of bags in the baggage hall. Presumably the people wanting them were still in the queue for immigration. We got through pretty fast, and apart from a near heart attack from a tw*t on the M1 who was weaving between traffic doing 70mph, and he nearly collided with a van. Our taxi driver was getting ready to go up the embankment to avoid him. Definitely a WTF moment. He must have been high as a kite or feeling suicidal.
Home safe and sound now, hubby snoring on the sofa. I have the first lot of washing on. Sweetcorn for tea.
Fidget - your trip sounds like it was "character building" in good and bad ways. Glad you're home safe and sound.
Busy - I tried meeting mums at the ONE monthly meets for baby weighing and inoculations as needed but even the nurse couldn't cope with how big Possum was for her age or that I was breast-feeding beyond 3 months old. When we did get to pre-maternelle at 30 months she was already a head taller than all the others and the villagers couldn't cope with that either. Funny b***ers.
Lovely storms last night so the air has cleared a bit but it's just very dull and grey now. Have raided the SM for heavy stuff to make life easier when she has to shop on foot or by bus. Off to Brussels soon for spicy bits and cinema.
Met two of Possum's friends last night after their student council meeting. They've been giving Possum all sorts of gossip about her flatmate....... Methinks Possum is going to need all her reserves of patience.
Right. More sorting and curtain bits now before we head off.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Flipping flipping heck obelixx hope your nerves are settled now, we will be at Manchester airport but we still have to go on the motorway for 20 miles, there are a lot of idiots with led feet on the motorway 🙄
Afternoon all. Home from the coal face. I had the opposite problem this morning. Folk on holiday who seem to think that 35mph in a 60mph area is fast enough, ditto 20mph in a 30mph area. A camper van which eventually realised that there were about 15 vehicles behind it then moved into a lay by to let us all past.
Hi all. No surprise that my dealings with EE about my mobile phone were utterly hopeless, but my faith was restored when talking to a bank about an online account. I was wanting to close an account, but could not remember any of the necessary log in details, so was expecting a total nightmare. I was very surprised that a very nice lady, spent ages trying to extract enough information from me, so she was satisfied that I was who I said I was. In the end I passed the test, and the money was transferred.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
