I didn’t think there was any device where one can’t reduce photos Mary?

It's not an option Mary.  You choose to downsize on your own device and then load.  Google "resize your image" and you'll find some free software to do it for you.

Like Lyn, photos can take forever to load as we have a very slow connection so I look ut the minute it starts wobbling or loading line by line I change thread.

  • Same here - though sometimes I can change to the dongle which is quicker, but that doesn't work if the cloud is down!
There's quite a few regular posters affected, but it affects the questioners too, as they don't get the same breadth of advice, but may not realise it.

"dongle" " cloud" WHOOOOOOSH: Right over my head.
    Devon.
  • @Hostafan - the dongle is a tiny portable modem that used to power my daughter's laptop. Now she lives in Manchester she has her own connections.

The cloud is just that - cloud. It's really bad when I can't see the trees at the bottom of the field. Today I can see the trees but the cloud bank starts just behind them.
    Not a good dongle day!

  • @Hostafan1 ;)  I've just acquired a 'newer' iPhone ... I've had to 'back up to the Cloud' in order not to have to input all my contacts by hand ... I have been told I am now in the 21stC ... whatever that might be lol

Three years ago at the annual Sag BBQ, everyone but me was sat playing with or looking at someone's i-phone.  All adults in their 60s and all, except 2, IT or ex IT types.  I mentioned that they weren't very good for conversation given that some of us only see each other at this annual reunion and said my phone was strictly for emergencies and used as a phone.

So 20th century!  Apparently.  Haven't bothered going to the reunion since.

No chance of me ever putting the internet on the phone, it’s for phone calls.
