I thought I hated orchids - horrible plasticky -looking things. But it's different when you get your own baby to flower after years of wilful neglect.

When did "concerning" come to mean "worrying" instead of "of concern"?   And why do BBC reporters give the plural 3rd person verb to single unit subjects eg "government are"?

Why do reporters stand outside and shout into the microphone?
Why can't they sit in the studio and speak normally?
If they feel a backdrop is necessary, I'm sure that's easily done.

I hear on today’s news that our protest to Walkers have made them rethink the plastic bag issue, don’t think they liked millions of them turning up on their doorstep, in the freepost envelope.
Well done to all who signed the 38 degree protest.
The only thing is now, being the cynic that I am, are they just telling us that they will be recycled or will they be dumping them in an incinerator, I suppose either way it’s better that the ocean and will other countries follow suit?
