On the whole, I agree except for stuff that needs some planning ahead. I've long since given up making Xmas cake weeks in advance cos of all the feeding with alcohol. Now I just make a Creole cake a week ahead so all the booze goes in at once. Don't make Xmas pud any more as OH is the only one who likes it.
On the other hand, with 2 dogs (waggy tails) and 2 young cats (playful) I find traditional Xmas tree baubles break all too easily so have taken to making my own from felt and that needs starting early December. This year I'm also making an Xmas patchwork table cover and that needs starting this coming week.
So glad I won't have weeks of Xmas music every time I go to the SM or a graden centre. Pity the poor staff.

I try to remember my earplugs to avoid #Santa roasting on an open fire# and the absolute depths of mawkishness _ - the little boy that Santa Claus forgot. Apparently, he didn't want a lot. Unfortunately, I always forget them. But I spend less because I want to get out as soon as possible. I do celebrate Christmas, but not until Christmas.
Need to back pedal a little have just seen the ad for one of the German supermarkets with Kevin the carrot, a spoof of the Coca Cola advert crossed with the Italian job. Liked it.
Similar here Dove. I'm late November and OH is early December so nothing Xmassy before then altho he did start trying to sneak in the Xmas tree in time for St Nicholas on December 6th which is when Dutch and Belgian children get their presents. We gave her somepressies then so she wasn't odd one out at school.
She's 24 in Jan and still wants her St Nick prezzies.........and Xmas.
