Hosta, did you not know that the main priorities for people living on their own are a back scratcher and a leccy blanket.

What you need Hosta is a supersized duvet and one of those covers with a tail that tucks under the mattress at the end so it doesn't fall off/get pulled off.

Cool here too today and set to get to a generous 21C high this pm.   I shall finish off the latest batches of passata and dried toms then sew a curtain and then tackle some weeds later.  OH and Possum are in heavy PC mode sorting out her new, expensive graphics PC with golf on TV.  No human contact there then today!

On the verge of buying a new PC but having to factor in 2-3 solid days doing nothing else but set it up, is causing me a problem. Going to have to wait until middle of next month I think. Not something I am looking forward to. Why in this day and age is it not any easier?

I've just successfully pulled the old "Could you set up the shredder for me and I'll do some shredding" ruse.
    Works every time o:)

I'm probably being very stupid, but what takes "2-3 solid days"?

Depends what you need it to do Hosta.   Possum's new PC has a fancy graphics board and new apps she needs for her transmedia architecture studies and has taken ages to set up with both she and OH playing with it.

Then there's the normal day to day stuff and security protection and stuff to re-register with the new PC to keep it legal and maintained and all the data to transfer across and inevitable teething problems.

And I have loads of programs to reload like my email client, old emails, photoshop, all my camera stuff etc etc. The list goes on...…….And of course reload all my  photos and data...…….calibrate my new monitor, connect my printer, set up wifi, backups...………..gosh, putting myself off here!

Last time I changed PC I decided to keep all my documents and photos and music on separate external disk drives.   Makes moving about much easier, especially since OH does all that.   Also have a laptop which simplifies things and lets me take it with me when I travel.

Haven’t used my shredder for years, everything goes in the compost bins.
