Whilst surfing the terrestrial channels - we are routerless for the time being - I chanced upon Junior Masterchef. It's really disturbing and GR should be ashamed of himself.
It's sometimes cheaper to buy a cheapo printer for the ink and chuck out the printer I've heard. Utter madness. Utter extortion
My home office printer is an HP A3 printer, scanner and photocopier. It cost under £100 complete with ink that lasted me 6 months but the ink costs £85 to replace if you buy the offical HP ink. Because it's wireless it updates itself to try and stop you using other brands too. Now I'm getting warning popups all the time telling me I've voided my warranty by using other brands of ink. As if it the warranty matters if it's not much more expensive to throw the printer away every time it runs out of ink.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
It really is a piece of nonsense isn't it if you only use your printer for run of the mill stuff. I do print a lot of photos from mine but I have found after many years of trial and error that Blue Box inks are as good and a fraction of the price of Canon inks.

I used to do quite a lot of photo printing but stopped when the price of getting them done professionally began to work out cheaper than doing them myself after I'd factored in paper and ink costs. The printer had 7 ink cartridges and the cost of each one rose to nearly £20. I did try 'compatibles' but had problems with heads clogging up. I ended up getting rid of the printer and now use one which cost about £80 including the ink. Our local Currys recently had a printer on offer for £35 and that was cheaper than a set of replacement inks for the same printer. I do realise that the cartridges supplied with the printer generally aren't fully loaded.
