French "gilets jaunes" fuel protesters. Thought they might have gone home for dinner by th etime we were heading off to dancing but no, standing around swigging beers and being drunk and stupid. Made me cross.

Still fuming from yesterday, I am expecting a new router from BT got a text at 7am from Royal Mail to say they would deliver that day so hung around house doing odd bits in front garden- you guessed no sign of delivery. Worse this means I will end up wasting tomorrow waiting around again
I quite accept people's right to protest as long as they follow the rules and don't break laws and that includes not using intimidating, threatening behaviour and not effectively imprisoning them. Don't appreciate it when bullies try and push me around, especially when they are in greater numbers and are drunk and make me miss my dancing.

I drove behind another save the planet kill your child moron weaving about with a toddler strapped to the back of his bike today. You have elf and safety standards that apply to every aspect of our lives apart from cyclists

Sadly, it would seem that the concept of peaceful picketing is an alien one to many in France. The ethos seems to be "Start with violence and if that doesn't work become more violent"
I thought they'd all have gone home for dinner by the time we needed to pass the main blocks at 9pm as the shops would be long shut but no, still there and drunk and belligerent. Letting cars go past at a rate of 2 or 3 every 15 minutes. No hurry to let an ambulance thru even.
Our turn eventually. I drive on outward journeys so I had to roll down the window and explain where our yellow jacket was. Behind the front seats. Would we display it on the dash in solidarity? No. Do I like paying taxes? Taxes pay for services.
Didn't like that answer so asked why I thought they were there. Nothing better to do? Didn't like that either and "invited" me to move forward and then over to the side for "education" while they let other people past. I moved forward then turned off the engine, thus blocking everyone. They didn't like that either and started sliding barriers around to try and force me over.
They'd picked on the wrong Obelixx. Carried on sitting there while they ranted and waved and waggled their barriers and then one of the stupid buggers left a wide enough gap for me to whack on the engine and escape in best raleigh driver fashion whle they hopped up and down.
Went home a very long way round. Fuming. Will be having words with our gendarme neighbour about why drunken louts are allowed to detain and threaten people going about their business.
