Got an eye's up from GW that my name had been mentioned, that usually means trouble. Dancers do not look at legs they look at feet and posture, it matters not if the people are photogenic or not it is what they do and how they do it. For competitions as long as they wear the correct apparel for the Dance they are competing in and have showered at least once that year it is the actions that count. @ are they, the spiel that goes with the pictures appears to be me me me, not what can I do for dance but what can I do to promote me. Brought up in an era when Dancing was an enjoyable meeting between people of the opposite sex ( I can see that getting wiped in this overly PC world), when it was the content and not the vision that mattered I cannot see me watching the please everyone show it has become. I can remember past winers although the last two years are a blanc, I may even look at the Middle Eastern belly dancers or the Whirling Dervishes it could well be more entertaining. By again, Frank.
The day Strictly decide to have two men dancing together,is the day I give up watching! I just like to see the fabulous dresses, two men doing a waltz wouldn't be nearly as pretty to watch, sorry guys!
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
I watched a dance competition - both Latin and ballroom - a couple of years ago that had two men dancing together and have to say their technique and choreography were so good it made me forget the lack of skirts. No amount of sequins and lace beat a good dancer in a plain frock or pair of trousers.

I saw an interview with Kate Silverton (newsreader) yesterday, in which she said she would take the training seriously, but not herself too seriously. Seems like a good attitude to have.
@Palaisglide I hope you're not turning into a curmudgeon Frank. I for one would miss your input even if you get your @s and your elbows mixed up. I'm quite sure you never had any trouble with your feet or your silver tongue!
Plant Pauper sorry to say this, I lost interest in telling people you cannot beat the weather cold as in Spring or Hot as the last months, it is mainly common sense not experience, I say no more on that. Curmudgeon? no with 4 new Great Grand Children in the last two years two since February this year who visit on a regular basis the pictures of them sitting on my knee show me as anything but. Strictly has not been high on my agenda and they are certainly milking it even before it starts. I did look on line at the new contestants and wondered who on earth they were, the blurbs were gushing, it seemed an obvious ploy to lift sagging or none existing careers. The BBC have gone from a Dance competition to a marsh mallow pudding that true dancers can see no good in, if this overly PC massive take over of programmes goes much further my TV will go through the window and I will stick to my Mac book Pro. Saying that the Utube films of Dancing with the stars seems much more gritty. The best Tango was in Spain an elderly couple danced the sexiest Tango I ever saw then came across and got Joan and I on the floor the lady proceeded to get me in a right lather I doubt I ever did a better Tango. Social dancing comes from the heart, well it did in my day, Competition dancing was hours of practice until you and your partner could have danced in an unconscious state. Strictly has become a fudge. I say bye for now relatives coming from Canada and I am off wandering for a while, may be back when I see real pleas for help in something I know about. Frank.
