You and me both Liri. We've just watched it this evening cos we were out dancing last night
I don't think the best dancer won but I do like Stacey's attitude throughout and am happy for her. Love that Paso with proper music and loads of attitude. Have to say I really disliked Kevin's choreography for her show dance. Not a winner for me. Joe's show dance was much better - cr*p msic tho - but Faye and Ashley's were outstanding.
My favourite on the night was Faye for that innovative Viennese, fabulous jazz dance and beautiful show dance. Ashley second for me but only cos I'm not keen on what Strictly does to salsa. Loved her show dance and that Charleston. Joe in 4th place.
I dare say we'll watch the Xmas show but not cos we care who's in it or who wins. We'll also try the new dance series starting in January. Love dance.

I agree about the choreography for Stacey's show dance. The most amazing routine for me was Ashley's show dance. The timing required when one person is on the floor and the other on a revolving stage is incredible.
I would love Bruno to be replaced by the American gentleman that stood in for him earlier in the series. All that leaping about, waving arms around, etc. has seriously got on my nerves this year. It is usually the case that a new producer will make changes, so we shall see!
AnniD, don't hold your breath, The Variety show it has become brings in the Audience, the shenanigans on the judges bench, mad music, flashing lights and pictures on the floor are what they want to see otherwise they would not watch. The going ons behind the scenes the gushing on ITT and lets face it the Strictly Curse is far more entertaining to some than any dancing that may happen. All Saturday night is about is bringing in the mass audience, my guess would be most have never seen real ballroom dancing, the long hours of learning and practice behind the Professionals and they will be told to give the public what they want. I would bet some go home and cry. It is what it has become wall paper, year after year the best dancers do not win and this year the two best dancers were robbed, even my 9 year old Granddaughter threw a cushion at the TV as did I when they announced it. My Dancing days are over and so are my watching days, I am not watching something that makes me chew holes in the carpet. Saying that he Waltz's into the sunset to a Viennese waltz they would recognise in Vienna, not the mad parody i watched on Saturday. Bye All Frank.
Exactly Frank, life is too short to waste your time watching something that you don't enjoy. Still, we are all different and it would be a dull old world otherwise.
AnniD, It is the memories, the judging in my day would be people from Dancing classes with no competing members but talk about a clique. They knew which class you came from and if they did not like the owners you had no chance. It was a costly business so the few prizes available did mean something. I well remember walking on the floor with my partner taking one step and the dreaded tap on the should, you had to walk straight off. Being a bit of a hot head I cornered the judge, his remarks shook me, "you are too good we did not want to show the other dancers they had no chance" at least he was truthful. We were brought up at a time the cream rose to the top, all this there are no winners or losers has me beat, out there in Heavy industry and the Army you need to be good at what you do. Seeing the best dancers lose a dance competition (or is it) reminds me of skulduggery and todays news is saying BBC promoted one of their own, convince me it is not true, who sees the peoples vote??? Frank.
I thought Faye was the winner. I didn't like Ashleys show dance (but appreciated the difficulty of it) Joe was a bit stilted, and much as I loved Stacey there was something missing. I think 3 dances was all a bit too much for them. The judges choices were very unfair too, they gave Ashley a dance that she got 40 for, whereas the others had to do dances they did early in the competition, which were marked lower.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
I don't know why they don't publish the voting figures (at least, as far as l know, they don't). I can't imagine it's a State secret , but l expect the BBC will have some excuse. Maybe a Freedom of Information request would do it, after all, some people spend their money on phone calls, and they are not cheap these days.
Frank, any competition where the marking is subjective is open to corruption. I still clearly remember the Russian ice dancers, the Protopopov's, in a major competition - probably the Olympics as few other competitions were televised back then. Their music stopped just as they started to perform. They continued to dance without music and still got top marks for 'Artistic Impression'. How, when there was nothing to be artistic with or to impress against?
