We will be out dancing this evening - Xmas dinner and dance with fellow dancers from our classes - so will miss the final tonight. OH is out all day tomorrow at golf and the AGM so I shan't be able to watch any news till the evening for fear of spoiling the show. May the best dancer win.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I am so pleased Stacey won it! I love Kevin cos of his ability to match choreography to his partner to bring out the best in them. I love Stacey cos of her attitude to the whole thing. After the things she's seen she knows how lucky she is and how not important Strictly is in the great scheme of things. She has worked hard but she hasn't kept on about it. She didn't play the Family Card or the Dead Dad card. She just enjoyed every second and I enjoyed it with her. And she really progressed through the weeks. She had her Strictly Moment, which is always lovely to watch.
And Kevin finally won one! I have a big smile on my face still.
It's been a good year. I shall miss it for a while.
I wish I was a glow worm A glow worm's never glum Cos how can you be grumpy When the sun shines out your bum!
Bruno, "I have never seen a Viennese Waltz like that in my life" nor me? Shirley, "Ashley you are a born dancer" I agree. Ashley had no chance with the GBP although from a dance point of view won it for me. That of course is my opinion, you all have your own. I never watch the Christmas show so sign off now until next year. Frank.
Hello , didn’t see final as at my nieces wedding 🎩 but it nice to have some good news , instead of Brexit , did record it and will watch it some time next week when back home 🏡 The winner was definitely the favourite 💃🏼 Personally wouldn’t have minded who won
I watched it this morning, and enjoyed it, the winner was as l expected! I thought Stacey was lacking some energy and when l saw their Showdance that explained it. I thought it was nice that Karen was first to congratulate Kevin, l wouldn't be surprised if both of them leave SCD now. As usual there have been highs and lows on the Strictly journey (apologies for using the J word !), and as every year l am left feeling a bit flat at the end. Still, it will be back again before we know it. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all on this thread !
If it had been a shooting competition at Bisley, the winner would be the one with five shots in the bull, not two inners an outer and a Bull in the next field It just makes me angry next year may well get a miss from me.
I wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Frank.
I think they need to get back to somewhere nearer the original version of Strictly. That is to say, people with little or no formal dance training. It's certainly not the fault of those in this years show that some of them had masses of dance experience whilst others had none.
For better or worse, part of the British make up is wanting fairness and we gravitate against those who we perceive as being given an unfair advantage. I don't think anyone would argue that Stacey was the most accomplished dancer, but she was certainly the one who had made the most improvement during the series. To me Joe seemed at times last night to be dancing by numbers. There was a lack of fluidity, and when his partner was coming up behind him in the show dance he was trying to look back to see where she was.
