I was told by a herbalist that the white milky sap you get from snapping a fresh dandelion root works for warts. Never tried it myself ... but it's something that would be very easily obtained so worth trying. Bee x

I read about that too Bee witched, dandelion sap can be used to treat skin moles, verrucas, corns and warts plus acne and eczema. I have a very good book about herbs and healing plants (a Collins nature guide) You'd be surprised what plants are in the book- bindweed, horse/mares tail, silver birch etc. I have a 'weed' called herb Robert that self seeds all over the garden, I used to try and pull it all up until I read in my book that it can be used for toothache etc so now I don't so much mind the odd clump, you never know when I might need it! I also have used dock leaves for nettle stings since a child, it really works. Nettle tea is supposed to be really good for various things including rheumatism and sciatica, cider vinegar for arthritis; I have spells of having a 'health kick' and have used both of these. I would say they did work but can't rule out other factors. I haven't bought any cider vinegar tablets for a year now because they are expensive I think (£8+ for a tub but worth every penny if they definitely work) and my back has been quite bad since I ran out of them but at the same time I did carry my 5 yr old son part way up Snowdon and lay a drive with thick 3x2 flags at the same time. So the real test will be the next tub I buy. Sorry my post is so long
My Welsh nan was told to treat a wart by rubbing it with a piece of stolen bacon, which she was then to bury in the ground. I don't know if it worked, or why the bacon has to be stolen and buried. But 10/10 for novelty.
Slippery elm for colitis. Arnica gel for bruises and sprains. Aloe Vera for burns. Peppermint for indigestion and travel sickness (preferably with fizzy water).
Tying a piece of cotton round a wart is supposed to work but pretty difficult to do, I'd have thought.

I sustained a deep cut in my arm, when my cat leapt off my lap,due to hubby starting up a petrol mower. It bled like mad,but I put Aloe Vera gel on it fresh from a plant, and it healed really well, just a very faint scar.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
Been doing some searching about anti inflammatory remedies. Will definitely be using Turmeric idea. I've also read that Rosehip is supposed to work too. I've ordered some Rosehip tablets - I'll be a guinea pig and let you know if it works!

I'm glad people are getting involved as I've learnt a new one with Turmeric will give that a go.
