We eventually got some rain ... along with thunder lightning and a very gusty wind ... not sure how much we've had but hopefully enough to fill the butts again ...all is calm and overcast now ... 'they ' say we should get some more ... we shall see...

Its its here! SE, near the South Downs, well, it was, when I got up at 6.30, it was lashing it down, yes also very windy, bit of blue sky, Hoping to go to "Driftwood" garden Seaford, a garden trail today and tomorrow for McMillian, opened this morning by Jum Buttress (allotment Challenge) Yesterday about 5 0 clock, a distant clap of thunder, followed by the tiniest bit of rain, text from my daughter in Catford, thunder, lightening, and 11 minutes of hard rain, then text from other daughter Crawley, heaven had opened, (no mention of thunder or lightening) she would have been under the stairs if there was. Missed the eclipse, shame because of the cloud. One of our water butts was leaking around the tap, I emptied it below the tap line the other day (no, folks it WASNT rain water) I filled them up, to dechlorinate for the pond, I have been laboriously scooping out the shower water into buckets, filling a dustbin by the back door, then find its the very devil to clean the tide mark off the fancy composite bath!
We had spits and spots overnight and a big downpour about 7am with a few small showers since. It’s forecast sunshine and showers all day today and heavy rain and wind tomorrow.
Still no rain to speak of here. I got very excited yesterday as we were surrounded by black clouds and could see lighting and hear thunder rumbling but only a scattering of rain drops for about a minute then nothing more.
However, I'm going to a garden party tomorrow so here's hoping....
We had some rain yesterday, and a fair amount overnight. Aside from a downpour from thunderstorms a week ago, that’s been it since May, so I completely sympathise with how you feel, as I was also wondering when it was ever going to rain.

Started to rain at 4.00 am this morning for a few minutes and started again three times today on and off. When we had a deluge about 3 weeks ago a lady rang my bell asking if they could shelter as her daughter was freaking out so in they came. I supplied towels let her use my phone and gave her 3 foot tall daughter my waterproof to wear home . She looked like a Hobbit !! Has the Mum returned the waterproof. No she has not. As Victor Meldrew says " I dont believe it "
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.
