Our storm forecast has gone away.  Scorchio for the next week.  Maybe a dribble next Friday.

Wild edges......I could definitely smell rain yesterday morning, but where did it go?? Not our way I'm afraid,we now have smoke again!
There were several new fires locally today. We need rain just so the fire crews can get some sleep.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

We have been out and about today and everything is brown and dry at ground level. It's been 7 weeks since rain here too. What I wanted to say was that for the first time ever the farmers are baleing the cut roadside growth , never seen it before as it's always been too long and green. A two mile stretch has a cutter width band either side of the road( which leaves almost the same again under the hedges uncut). It just shows how dry everything is when they can straight cut and bale in one go.

These bloody weather reporters are useless. How many times have they said its going to rain now?

Its slightly annoying when you read hotter countries are getting rain. I think they've stolen our rain!

    Very localised. Bloody foreigners, eh?

What we really need is a prolonged period of light rain so the ground has a chance to absorb it.  With a heavy downpour most will just run off and disappear down the drains.

No rain here and I really do need it. Had to put the sprinkler on yesterday, heaven knows what the water bill will be.  Nothing forecast until Friday.
