I am sooooooo envious of anybody who's had any rain at all recently. We had one heavy downpour in May but nothing since.

All the local ponds and small water courses are drying / dried up. Even mature shrubs and trees and the local hedgerows are flagging and most of the clay soil is like concrete. Everything just looks exhausted and shrivelled to a crisp. Horrid.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

It's cranking up here in North London. Tomorrow is foretold as a day of thunderstorms. Fingers crossed.

We just had proper rain \o/  Not enough to put the fire out but enough to moisten things a bit. I strung up a tarp and gathered an extra watering can full to top the pond up a bit. It all smells fresh and rainy outside now :)

The Sun says showers today in the south east, sunny periods, we have a bit of white fluffy cloud now, sky has been cloudless for weeks, what about St Swithins Day!!! My neighbour saw on TV its going to rain on Wednesday.

Just had a shower which lasted all of 1 minute.  Not enough fell to completely wet the pavement so I'm not counting it!  7 weeks now.

I had a four hour storm - thunder, lightning, rain of biblical proportions from 10-2 today -  had to take OH to the airport in the middle, negotiating flooded bendy country roads on the way back in near zero visibility. At 2pm, the skies cleared, the sun blazed and the dog had to have her play in the pool to cool off. It’s a mad, mad world.

We had a bit of wind and the sky looked as if it might gather some clouds together for a storm. I even thought I smelled rain in the air. It was probably just the freshly watered garden. No rain here since May. 🌂
