Well just an update. Sorry to say all my TLC didn't work. Lots of water, food and supporting the plant but still in a down pour of rain the squash fell off. Too late in the season to carry on growing the plant, which is very healthy, so will cut my losses for this year. 🙄☹🙄

    Oh ... that's a shame  :(

  • Yes, agreed that is a shame, I was enjoying this saga, the mystery yellow courgette that had intrigued us all.  However as you say purpleallim cut your losses and perhaps next year you will grow the prize winning specimen.

We live in hope @Guernsey Donkey2. Mind you I thought the cues were doing well until I saw the size of the cucumber on GW! 😮
  • Oh yes, I saw that too, it just goes to show that we should have more faith in our gardening ability.  I just feel lucky if I have half a dozen cucs on my one plant, and there is Pete with over 200 - I wonder if he prays to them too? Perhaps that is where I am going wrong with my mini harvest?
That GW cucumber wouldn't fit in my fridge - it was amazing.

It'd make an awful lot of cucumber sarnies ... I wonder how many loaves you'd need  :/  ?

Or how many jars of pickle? That would go well with their food. 😀 I just made raspberry and bramble jelly or seedless jam if you will , for the first time from my own fruit😃

Great!   Let's hope for an Indian Summer ... they'll go on well into late September, even early October if the weather holds ..........
