Lots of foodie friends love Lidl and Aldi ... certainly when I go to the Lidl on the other side of the city we see lots of customers in their with their W'rose carrier bags and it's right on the other side of the city to W'rose.  We have a new Aldi opened locally ... not tried that one yet but will pop in when passing to try it out.

I love our Lidl, they sell the meat from our local butcher so saves going into the other town.

Has anyone else noticed that not only is Serena Williams playing in a long sleeved dress, she also has fishnet tights on. In the hottest Wimbledon for years.

Yes, I noticed she was like that last week.  Someone mentioned she had to get permission to wear tights.

Apparently it's a type of compression garment to do with a blood condition following the birth of her daughter

"...Compression sleeves and tights are worn to prevent blood clots by improving blood flow and that is why Serena wears the gear. James Broatch from the Australian Institute for Sport told Coach Mag: ‘Compression is traditionally utilised in medicine for the treatment of numerous circulatory diseases, including lymphedema [swelling, usually in the arms or legs], pulmonary embolism [blockage of an artery in the lungs] and deep vein thrombosis.’...

I had thrombo-phlebitis following Wonky's birth and had to wear thick 'support stockings' during the summer of 1976 !!!... Serena has my sympathies  :(

Speaking of Wonky ... she just popped in for a flying lunchtime visit as she was delivering machinery parts to a farm near here ... lovely to see her, even if just for 10 minutes  B)

Internet was practically non-existant this morning. I rang France Telecom and actually got hold of someone helpful to talk to for a change. She did I know not what to our Internet, which took some time and it's heaps better. I've actually been able to see some photos on the Gallery. I've rung them on and off for the last 3 years and sometimes they've sent a technician who has done nothing and charged for it.

I have no trouble buying pasteurised milk here in Dordogne, must be because of all the English living here. Whole milk freezes too.

You would think that the way she bounces around, blood flow should not be a problem. It must be difficult with all the flying from tournament to tournament, if she is prone to DVT and blood clots. Still I don't suppose she is flying cattle class. It helps if you can lie down on the plane.

She had a pulmonary embolism and a large abdominal haemotoma following an emergency C Section ... she was very ill.  I think she's done remarkably well to get back to her current level of fitness.
