That sounds like a uniform they should provide Dove. Hope he likes the job and stays log enough to get his money's worth!
I'm messy and mucky and scratched. Been messing with weeds, esp bindweed and set my own grass fire to burn off dead weeds - bit smelly and smoky but I was on hand with the hose so no naughties. Then a teeny bit of planting and by then it was way too hot so off into the shade to do battle with next door's wild brambles that are heading our way. Lethal stuff.
Just waiting for coffee before I go out again. Rescued hemerocallis to pot up and some ajuga and geraniums to recuse too and lilies to pout up for display.......
Glad the tennis did you good Dove.

Thanks Obelixx Shirts are provided ... I suppose they think that most people have some plain black trousers and shoes ... most probably do ... OH doesn't
Really p'd off with something being repeated ad infinitum in an attempt to prove a point/provoke an argument ... if someone has something they feel strongly about they can always start their own thread ... I've had to ask Nora to lock the hosta thread Shame Maybe we can discuss hostas again another time.

I saw that and it's a shame. I think we need to accept that some people are more sensitive than others to certain plants/sap/seeds/whatever and let them warn others but then they too must accept empirical evidence from others that, for the most part, garden plants are not going to kill us or our pets in normal gardening circumstances.
Had to tell OH to be careful weeding spurges in full sun today. He only knows about stings and spikes cos they're obvious.
Once more unto the fray for me now. So many weeds and lots of treasures to plant out if I can and still some rescued hostas to pot on problem. I might just post a pic of the latest skeleton.

Afternoon. I’m bouncing between watching tennis and doing some pottering outside. It is a bit cooler today, in fact I thought it might rain earlier, but we have some raindrops forecast for tomorrow and Friday by the looks. I’ve just potted-on a small-flowered, white rambling rose that I bought a small cutting of at an Open Garden the other weekend. I’ll be chuffed to bits if it takes, as I saw the Mother and Grandmother plant and it looked gorgeous (owner didn’t know name, unfortunately).
AuntyRach - I'd completely forgotten the tennis was on! I don't really watch either sport but the football madness has taken over the media somewhat. That's a bit of a shame.
Just come in from the garden. As it's been cooler and cloudier today (hot again now) I thought I'd plant out out the Nicotiana sylvestris plants I've been hanging on to while the sun's been so blistering. All done and watered in.
But then I was walking past the plum tree and thought, "I really should have called the tree surgeons by now - it's completely out of hand. Maybe I'll just cut that bit back..." I'm apt to get carried away when I've a pruning saw in my hand. A few hours and a lawn full of 10 foot branches (twice) later, I'm pleased with the results. Hope I haven't killed it but tbh something had to be done.
Oh and Happy Birthday to Mr Pat - sorry, missed that earlier. Chocolate hot cross buns.... yum. Stick a candle in one - job done

Why do the Beeb keep changing the courts on the channels? Leave centre court on BBC1 and no 1 court on BBC2. rest on red button. I started watching Federer, taping the other channel, half way through they swap. Why?
