My OH assures me that cycle racing is really interesting cos it's so tactical.   I couldn't care less.   I've grown out of competitiveness after accepting there are some things I do very well and others where I just about muck thru and that I do some things better than others while other people do things I can't.   Each to their own skills and interests but with an open mind to learn more.

Sorry LG.  Sounds like a good haul.  I like sanguisorbias too and have brought some with me.  The first two clumps have been planted out now - yet to see what colour they will be as no labels - and I have several more just potted on waiting for new beds.  I've always bough lily bulbs at Chelsea and been very pleased.  Good luck with yours.

Chess is very tactical too, but beggar watching other folk do it.

Right, after an hour on the phone ( landline ) I've got my mobile connected again.

I hope the Hampton Court visits go well for those attending today.

    @Lyn, I don't even PLAY board games.
@punkdoc I'd say I'm "self competitive" if there is such a term , inasmuch as I want my garden to be nicer than last year, and constantly plan who it'll be even nicer next year.
Whether it's nicer, or not as nice as others is of no concern.
Same here again Hosta,  as you know. I knew you were my son in a previous life😀

i hate board games, I was so pleased when the kids were old enough to have friends round or play games with each other.
We only play scrabble so our brains don’t stagnate completely , I don’t speak to anyone all day,   only Roland in the evenings, and that’s not for long. 😀

It's going to be a few hours watering today and tomorrow as I'm going away on Friday for three nights. Being south facing there's no respite from the sun for the poor plants.

Given the antics of the Tories lately blocking new laws on " upskirting" and Rees Mogg fillibustering, I have no sympathy for any of them.

Oh oh - it's raining! Not very hard, and it doesn't feel like it'll last any time at all, but honestly - I was starting to forget what anything but baking sunshine felt like. This feels crazily novel. In the UK. How odd.

I wonder if it's raining at Hampton Court,  and if Liri and Chicky are still there?

I know, I'm odd, but I revel in my own personal oddness.
I revel in your oddness too Hosta.... ;)
I feel sorry for them to be honest - imagine the ludicrous expectation now.... :/
It's going to be tough getting those lads out Obelixx. What a story though, and I'm sure there'll be a good outcome. My neice's partner is a cave diver, and if they'd been in Thailand [where they were both based until a year or two ago ] I'm sure he'd have been involved.
Just hope they can get a handle on these fires here. They now reckon the initial one was started deliberately. What is wrong with people?
Love Pat's sunset pic. We've had some lovely ones, but I'd have to go along the road a bit to get a pic, and I never remember.
Better go and bake cakes now - big fairylet's birthday today. 24. How did that happen?   :o
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
