I've taken advantage of the low water level to stick some more water lilies in the lake

Decided that playing indoor tennis was a no-no this morning.   I've been padding around in the garden barefoot, pruning the grapevine (yet again) and doing some deadheading.

I've decided not to pick the latest crop of sweet peas ... the perfume in the house is too strong and they look such a picture from the  kitchen window ... I'll just have to keep on top of the deadheading  :)

Horrific situation in Greece. That tale of the 26 bodies huddled together reminds me of the scene in the boathouses in Herculaneum after the eruption of Vesuvius. It was pretty upsetting to see, but that was 2000 years ago and this is now. And there are forest fires in the arctic circle.

Has @Obelixx gone to Belgium now? [waves to Obxx ]

No gardening today, just watering later. Spotted that one of the three Ornithogalum saundersiae bulbs I'd planted and long given up on has decided to make an appearance after all! I wonder if the others will follow suit. It's a day for unpleasant jobs. Been for a routine test at the Drs (ugh) and about to embark on some ironing. In this heat  . But Bow's off to Romania on Saturday and there are concert clothes to be done, so needs must.

Hello everyone.   Left for Belgium on Monday as planned.  Spent all day yesterday back and forth moving stuff we can carry in the cars rather than paying chaps.  Proper removal men with a lift tomorrow so they can take furniture out of this back window and bung it in thru the front of the new place.   For some reason, the lifts in these buildings don't take furniture, just 3 or 4 bodies.

Too hot and too humid at the mo so having a rest and then we'll start again.   170 messages to read so 'scuse me for not catching up with all the latest chat.   Our neighbours sometimes sleep under the stars Dove.  Shooting stars due in August so might try it.  Good luck with the ironing LG.

14 water lilies now squidged into the lake. Lunch consumed so back to sunbathing.

Ironing's done. Well, if I ignore the massive pile of everything-except-whats-needed-for-the-tour (which I fully intend to), then it's done.

I don't envy you moving boxes, Obxx.

So lethargic. I need someone to come and give me a kick in the rear (I can't reach, and am too lethargic to bother anyway).

I ironed a shirt last week ... first thing I ironed since we got back from holiday ... not good to iron in this weather ... the heat from the iron contributes to global warming ... not ironing is my contribution towards saving the world  o:)

Well I've now managed a days overtime and it's only Wednesday.

I really must cook some proper food this week; Monday was a frozen meal I'd made a while a go, yesterday was fish and chips.

Watching the news, suddenly it's too hot means nothing.
