Morning all, we never go off for more than a night at this time of year. Just too much to come back to
hope  everyone manages to stay cool.

For me working in this heat has been bizarre - our office airconditioning is so fierce that I match Hosta, with a pashmina draped around my shoulders.  Have to go out in the sunshine at lunchtime just to thaw out 😮

Morning all. Still no rain here either. We are at least used to summers like that, but it must be frustrating for all of you.
Fairy, I agree that la Tour is really ramping up. Do you know why the farmers were making a fuss? We can’t work it out. I must admit that I really like Froome and I feel sorry that people can’t accept the official ruling about his medication.
Yes the Greece fires are really awful. Death numbers are climbing.

That reminds me of friends of ours who had their air con in their apartment in Goa set to 16C.
" If it was 16C at home, you'd have the heating on"
They were always ill and I blame the obsession with air con. 16C in their apartment, 33C outside, air con in the car as soon as the started up, then out into 33C again, back into the car , down to 16C. Distinctly unhealthy methinks.

    Morning all.

Still hot and dry here - and due to be hotter tomorrow. I am becoming more and more lethargic. It's starting to approach the temperatures of August 2003 when I was 8 months pregnant / had a newborn. 35° the day she was born - I'm sure you can imagine how hot the hospital was!

Sorry about your missed trip, Fidget :(
Hope things calm down at work at some point, Fairy. I envy your temperatures!
And hope all goes well with the viewings etc BL. Have you got any more booked? Would you be buying somewhere else in France or moving completely to the UK? (Sorry if you've said and I've missed it).

    Have a good day everyone.

Whoops! That posted too soon ... we spent most of the night out there under the stars, coming in at about 3:45 when it got chilly. We heard muntjac barking, watched the stars come out, bats and moths fluttering about, the ISS passing over and three ... yes three different hedgehogs visited the feeding station
on the terrace and then pootle off to snuffle about in the Wilderness. It was interesting to watch how each of them eagerly guzzled up the water we put out each evening.
I've slept out under the stars before but not in this garden. It's a magical experience ... everyone should do it  :)

    Much sadness in Greece  :'(

Heartbreaking accounts of families found dead huddled together. Unbelievably horrible way to go.

Glad you enjoyed your night out doors Dove, we have our window wide open, with a mesh grill up, ( being a bungalow with a low window)  the animal sounds are wonderful.

Its no good of me watering here in the mornings it’s evaporated by lunchtime!

@Lyn, for me "the animal sounds" drive me bonkers and keep me awake. I'm sooooo used to total silence now, every noise spooks me.
All our windows are firmly shut . Too cold and noisy otherwise.
