LG asked "And hope all goes well with the viewings etc BL. Have you got any more booked? Would you be buying somewhere else in France or moving completely to the UK? (Sorry if you've said and I've missed it). "  No more viewings booked, expecting it to be slow. I'll be buying a smaller, easier to look after house in France and spending a lot more time in the UK, but not moving there.

Been hot today, 33°, same as yesterday. Watched recorded stuff on TV this afternoon, sitting room is the coolest room in the house.

OH loves cheese scones, I baked some recently when I ran out of bread. He had them for breakfast.

I would be nervous sleeping in the garden, too many biting insects.

Thanks BL - best of both worlds!

I must admit, the idea of sleeping out under the stars really appeals, but I too immediately thought I'd just be bitten to within an inch of my life! 35° here today, reminiscing about being heavily pregnant in similar temperatures in 2003.

There was quite a big grass round fire here today - not what you expect in an urban/suburban area. But the Bethlem Hospital (aka Bedlam) actually has quite extensive land and of course it's all crispy and dry. Normally there would be lots of dogwalkers but today in the heat they stayed indoors. Luckily a police helicopter happened to be passing overhead, spotted the fire and alerted the fire brigade who dealt with it before it got out of hand. Multiple fire engines, police etc. We could smell it a couple of miles away, and they did start to evacuate nearby houses.  Could have been much worse.

Keeping everything crossed that the predicted rain comes tonight.

We had a huge flash of Lightning last night, followed by about 10 spots of rain.

That’s 10 spots more than we had Fidget 🙄. But looks like they are fairly certain of a rainy day here on Sunday 🎉☔️☔️🎉

    Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

    Morning all.

What do the following have in common...? umbrella, windscreen wipers and water butts...?
Answer: they may all be in use today, and over the weekend, if the forecast is correct!

Have a great Friday everyone - rain or shine.

    Morning all.
Very muggy here.  The longed for rain should freshen the air, gardens and us.
