Now that's great but I shan't be able to see the blood moon. That is just flipping annoying. Grrrrrrr
In my experience of seeing a fair number of them over the years, you're not missing much. We keep hearing of " blood red " , but , those I have seen have merely been a slightly muddy brown.
I saw one once that was absolutely blood red. It was very freaky.
I wish I was a glow worm A glow worm's never glum Cos how can you be grumpy When the sun shines out your bum!
We still have a precious three day forecast showing, of heavy downpours and thunderstorms, starting this afternoon (Accuweather - the fantasy channel). The sky at the moment here is just about as blue and cloudless as it's possible to be. Does anyone know how to do cloud seeding? Is there a DIY instructable video anywhere?
Dove, yes, there is a 'season' for everything. It is a lovely broad word, with so many sense levels to it.
Can I be very curmudgeonly about Dyno Rod " 8am -1pm" appointment. " we'll call half an hour before we arrive" Well...... they'd better get a flippin' move one. I've been hanging around the house all morning for fear of losing signal if I get too far away.
"...The risk of more significant thunderstorms increases later in the afternoon, turning locally torrential with hail and briefly gusty winds. Maximum temperature 37 °C.
Tonight:
A very humid evening with thunderstorms continuing, locally torrential. The threat of storms decreases during the night, becoming dry across most parts ..."
Don't think I'll even moan if it is torrential as long as it's wet ........ (as long as no one gets hurt of course).
@Fire .... I loved reading Melvyn Bragg's 'The Adventure of English ... the biography of a language' it's high on the list of possibles to be taken to my desert island ... when they get around to asking me ... (anyone know why it's taking them so long?)
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thwawted! I was getting all wound up, ready to Grrump about the row the kids next door make now they have broken up for the happy summer holidays and the little ***** have gone away to summer camp! However I am delighting in the continued quiet.
I am guessing they will be home this week-end so the screams, shouts, fights, arguments, crying, etc. etc. will then rend the countryside with their usual cacophony

I reckon this is as good an instructional video as you'll find, Fire.
