  • @Purplerain,..Fingers crossed for your Rose Cuttings,..they should take as the percentages are very high,..just curious but did you tag them lol,..sometimes i forget as i might be in the middle of putting cuttings in and i am called away,.. then when they bloom i may not be the wiser as the bloom may not be like any of the parent plants.

Oh i didn't see the program from Beechgrove about Phlox cuttings taken in October,..interesting as i would expect them to be taken earlier,..well at the latest in late Summer giving them a chance to get started before Autumn and Winter arrives,..however Phlox Cuttings do take very quickly so perhaps it doesn't matter.

I took two lots of Phlox Cuttings,..one lot as posted in a post above which were four inches high,..then the ones below which were an experiment to see how small a cutting would take,..these were just a pinch off the top of the parent plant,..they also took.

    Red Rose No ID.

Another No ID,..but related to the one above which is a cutting from the parent plant,..so the one below is a cutting from a cutting,..or from the one above lol,..they don't resemble each other.

  • Tomorrow begins our first day of Winter,..even so there are many Digitalis and Mullein trying to gets some blooms in before we get frost,..two very big ones below.

Hebe's giving off their purple glow.

  • Late No ID blooms.

    Beautiful Philip
  • @granma,..i was away from the computer for the past 19 days,..the intention was to have a winter break outside the country,..however a clingy dog made me change my mind,..so instead i visited the east coast one day and the west coast the following day,..though it was the west coast mostly,..Galway is more appealing than Dublin and once off the train one is in the city.

Delighted you liked the Autumn Roses and i had to look at that rose you said looked like tissue paper,..i agree yes crepe paper,..the peach is indeed fragrant.
  • @Mary370 ,..thank you,..i hope you are having the mild weather we have had,..only frost one night though it didn't do any damage nor the storm last night,..another bigger storm due in the next few hours so tie things down as its supposed to have very high winds.

Lovely autumn show Philip.  I'm surprised you still had foxgloves flowering.
I used to enjoy days away like you did for a break. No queuing at airports and no worries about your dog pining for you.

  • @Joyce21 ,..thank you Joyce,..yes Foxgloves in Autumn is not the norm for my garden and i presume most other places,..i still have Foxgloves now and we are almost a month into Winter.

It was great not to have left Foxy Molly on her own,..i could do that with my previous dogs but then i had someone in the house most of the time i was away,..now if i just nip out to a shop i have to explain,..'wont be long,..back in a jiffy',..the welcome when i come back you would think i was away for a week lol.

    Galway,..on a previous visit.
