Oh Valley Gardener that is such a shame  :(  nothing that can't recover I hope.   tbh mine is such a haphazard mess even bad damage doesn't show, the runner bean arch is still standing so fingers crossed for the rest.

So windy!! Rain is coming and going. I slept really well too -almost felt a bit chilly!
A few casualties in the garden I think - oh well - good excuse for some gardening hours next week.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

I agree with @Hampshire Hog not as much rain as I had hoped for only one waterbut re-filled (they are linked) considering it's collecting off one side of the house roof its not that much. Better than nothing though, wind is a problem especially on allotments where it can be breezy even on an otherwise still day at home.

We were forecast heavy rain,  but l think that was a bit optimistic.  More damp than anything, the main problem is the wind ! Some rather battered looking plants out there. Ah well, all part of life's rich tapestry . :)
  • Well, we got our rain at long last - we now have full water butts as it has rained on and off all day.  Which is great, but unfortunately we have had winds of up to Force 7 with the rain, so the garden looks dreadful, foxgloves, sunflowers and hollyhocks down or straining on their supports.

Still there will be no watering to do for a good few days so we can relax over that.

So much wind damage here, I would have settled for no rain!

Nice steady rain most of today.  Tomorrow I'll get a trowel in the ground and see how far it's soaked in.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
