Well sitting outside at about 6-15 , thunder rumbling close by decided to come indoors , good job , thunder and lightning ⚡️, then it throw it down , a real storm and it is still raining but normal rain ☔️, glad didn’t water garden or allotment  :)
  • 1.2mm of rain during the night a bit cooler this morning with a good breeze 20c and rising clear blue skies.
Not sure the rain did a lot but has just soffend the surface a little so if we do get any decent rain maybe it will soak in rather than just run off.

It's been pretty torrential here so far this morning, the noise woke me at 6.45. The cats are sitting around inside, looking dead miserable!  Hooray,no watering tonight!!

Heavy downpour about 7am and few small showers since and forecast throughout the day, with heavy rain and wind tomorrow. I just ventured out and noticed a couple of pots had tipped over. I think my Sunflowers will be on borrowed time tomorrow. Butts are filling up a bit and ground looks wet at least.

  • Same as you again Hampshire Hog.  Here a very light dusting of rain (if you can call it that - really just a few spots), quite a strong wind - up to force 6 at times and now the sun is rising the clouds are being blown away.  The water butts are still virtually on empty and that wind is a bit of a shock after so many weeks of calm weather.
A cruise ship has cancelled it's visit due to the wind and I am glad that I staked most of my tall plants during the past week - they are swaying in the wind but are still intact so far.

Proper summer weather, wind and heavy rain  :) I thank the school holidays for waking the rain gods. My pond will be back to full in no time at this rate.

What a lovely night! What a lovely day! Still in the mid twenties but a lovely wind and a fresher, earth smell. This morning was the first time in weeks I've been in the greenhouse in daylight - found six cucumbers.

Supposed to be Armageddon again tomorrow - bring it on

  • Just back from allotment, the shower we had last night did nothing still rock hard and as dry as a bone,  we've just had another shower and the drops were drying up as soon as they hit the ground.
A little cooler today at 25c and we still have the breeze so feels better.

Showers first thing this morning (Glos), and quite breezy. So much fresher. Raining again now, and heavy rain forecast for much of tomorrow.  Great for me, but l feel so sorry for those getting married, having Open Gardens etc. this weekend. Missed the blood moon last night due to the cloud, when we've had clear skies for weeks ! Oh well .....
