Rain from the word go...it got so dark that l had to put the lights on at 10.30am !
This time last year l was pruning the forysthia, this year it's only just getting going. I see there is a rumour that the weather could improve next week.  B)

Cool grey and damp to start with.  Cool grey and dry at the mo.  Need to get OH off his PC and out clearing the rest of my potato bed so I can plant the remaining tubers and then add a fresh bit for my leek plugs.

    Anyone got any dynamite?

Mine does boat races - ever since we went to see the Vendée Globe boats at Les Sables d'Olonne up the coast from here last year.  I suspect he plays golf too but hasn't fessed up to that.

Just had a mega downpour with thunder accompaniment.  We all ran for the house - me, OH, 2 dogs and 1 cat.   Cosmos was tucked up inside.

Winter has returned. Gave up moving pots as hands were freezing.

Some day, when I'm old and grey, the rain will go away, and it will be springtime just the way it was last year.
Stockton NE is dull and dour once again, low cloud cold winds 7C "oh" misery.
I think I will be on the card game, I have managed to go from 55% to 82% wins, I blame Global warming, we used to be sowing seed in March now it is more like May, what happened to those two months I ask.

  • I am so disappointed with the the weather. After being in Southern Spain for eight years and having the most boring garden ever,I was looking forward to seeing the daffs and snowdrops, and planting up all my old favourites!! However, most are sitting on the terrace awaiting planting when it stops raining...............and now I'm ill 😥😥😥

  • I think it's beginning to get to all of us Cagzo. Last evening the BBC South weather forecast said we may get the odd spot of light rain. In the event we got nearly an inch of the stuff thumping down all through the night. I'm currently researching how to build a paddy field. I'm not sure that Spain, Portugal, France or anywhere for that matter is fairing much better this year though. Perhaps we just have to put up with a winter/spring like this once in a while to make us appreciate the better ones. Hope you get better soon.

  • Thank you Paul,it's a virus that has to run its course apparently! But you're right,my friends in Spain are having it really wild and cold, one of them sat up all night as she was terrified the big pines next to her house were being ripped out by the wind, she also said there was a fresh fall of snow on Los Fibrales.
