Cool, overcast and just right for some physical exercise. Guess that means I have to tackle the 'wild' area - best make some sandwiches and fill a Thermos. If I'm not back in a couple of hours please send help  ;)

  • Dull, but dry here.  It looks like it may rain, but there again it may not - so no excuse for not getting out there. I hope you are not overcome by your wild area herbaceous!

Its OK GD you can call off the search party! Could not have done that a couple of weeks ago, even now I am glowing more than a lady should

Having done battle with a mallow making a bid for Australia I'm going to have a cup of tea and hope this weather hangs on long enough to finish the corner.

  • How can those glorious sun shiny days be gone? I'm sick to death already of this incessant drizzle! Maybe this is typically Welsh Valley Weather?

You have my total sympathy @Valley Gardener I felt like that for the whole of July when it was too hot to move.

Another cool, overcast day so one more cup of tea and then off to wreak havoc with my new mattock. No-one is forecasting rain so hoping my 'wild' bit starts to look just a bit untidy.

  • Oh I hope it all goes well @Herbaceous, dismal here! I'm about to get my easel set up for a day of painting! At least that makes me happy as well as gardening!😁

Hope the painting is going well @Valley Gardener and you have enough light in the 'dismal' sky  :)

Managed to get a fair bit done but the sun came out, hacking became a bit too much! Decided to check the greenhouse on my way back to the kettle and found four monster cucumbers - how do they hide so well? Anyway, they are sliced and brined in the fridge now so another job for tomorrow if the sun comes back  ;)

  • @Herbaceous Good to hear you got on with the job in hand !Well done,a hard earned cuppa!!
Got my back to a north facing window,so the light isn't too bad.I call it my Studio, but really it's a tiny little bedroom that's not fit for use!! The best of it is I don't have to pack everything away.......just shut the door on it!
I know what you mean.....it's knowing when to stop,if i carry on too long in the garden I get to the top of the steps and sometimes feel weirdly on the verge of collapse!! I guess for me it's old age! But I should stop sooner,I know that!

Cucumbers sound amazing, yes they do merge with the surroundings. If you have any spare peppers, don't forget to put them into jars of vinegar, they make lovely pickles without the wait that onions have, also works with carrots.

Thanks for the tip @Valley Gardener although I rarely have any peppers left over tbh, too fond of ratatouille, roasted veg and veg soup. Cucumbers on the other hand  :o
