    A worrying thought @Valley Gardener

Another sure sign of rain is when I have a week off work - oops - that’s this week then!  I will trade a day or two if it waters the garden and puts any fires out though.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

The hills were still flaming at 10.30 last night,it's destroyed so much wild and plant life.We really need some good downpours now.

Stockton on Tees The sun suddenly appeared and it is heating up again, the North Sea overcast is being banished back to the arms of Poseidon and good riddance.

No idea what happened there the post above was put on days ago.

Stockton N.E. Sunshine and warming up nicely. The Tall ships race starts at Sunderland today a nice day for it apart from prevailing winds being the wrong way, the School kids on the Ships will have sore hands from Tacking. I saw the Start of the race from Newcastle years ago and it is truly a wonderful sight.

Lucky you to have a thunderstorm. We in Dorset have not seen rain of any sort for at least 6 weeks. The trees are all losing there leaves, the grass is brown and I have even had to water some shrubs. I normally have a lovely bog garden as the water run down the hill but this is all dried up as well and there is no forecast for rain this week either.

@wrightt We were struggling the same as you until last night when we got a storm at last we had over an hour of rain. Not enough to replenish the parched ground but better than nothing at least the water buts all re-filled- for now.
