Big fluffy grey clouds here but they're refusing to give up their water. On the plus side my onions and garlic are drying out beautifully so every cloud has a silver lining even if it doesn't contain rain.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
E. Berks - 26C in the greenhouse, 28C in the sun and 23C in the house. Time to do some housework on the bright side I'm hoping the watering will be easier tonight

Stockton N.E. Cloud cover again and well inland, no sun although no rain either still all the dead heading is done and the garden tidied up, I was surprised at how quickly the lawns recovered the morning sea mist helped keep them green when further afield turned brown, live with what you have I say. Cornwall. A lovely comfortable morning, nice breeze, wall to wall blue sky, all ready to heat up later. Washing blowing on the line, will be dry in an hours time. It has been hitting 100o in the conservatory so everything except cacti has been moved out into the garden.
Took the dog for a walk on the beach last night at 8.30pm. Glorious, never seen so many dog walkers paddling so late in the evening. The canine fraternity were loving it cooling off, mine came home very damp and sandy and is still sleeping it off. The first time he has got enough of his brave up paddle up to his tummy. He only has little legs!, and it was a flat calm sea at the bottom of the tide. Waves more than 1/2 ins and he doesn't want to know. When I took him on I was told he was scared of water so this is a major step for him.
You paint a lovely picture Joyce. We will probably visit the beach later today.
We spend all winter hoping for a few nice sunny days instead of the relentless cloud, rain and wind and now we are so pleased to see a few clouds in the sky and a light breeze.
What would your ideal weather be? Mine would be rain at night, sun and breeze all day. Snow? Well perhaps for a couple of days two or three times during January or February at the most.
