    Hello everyone.
Glenys, it seems we are in the exact weather zone. Hopefully May will bring some changes. Some of our neighbours are selling their livestock. No hay available anywhere and no rain.

We’ve had a stressful time lately which got partly resolved yesterday. Our daughter’s friend and next flat neighbour’s cancer has advanced at an alarming rate. He is getting confused, and hadn’t done anything to find a home for his large dog. He is a NZ hunterway / Kelpie cross. A big brown boy, named Canuck. I spoke to our farming neighbour about the dog and asked if they could think of someone who could take him. The result was that they knew someone who, very kindly, was interested. Our daughter brought the dog down yesterday and the man came here and got Canuck. We were very pleased with this mans kindness. He already has 4 working dogs, so is hoping he can train this boisterous fellow.

In the meantime, daughter is very stressed. Not a good thing for a Lupus sufferer. Neighbour John, is getting difficult. He has cancer, had radiotherapy and now is on painkillers. Fell over in his flat two days running and had to ring daughter to help him get up. She investigated his bathroom and found faeces all over the floor and unflushed toilet. She cleaned that up. Found he’d put a load of washing in the machine three days ago and it was still there. She re-washed the load and hung it out. She also found he had no sheets on the bed, so made his bed for him. Now he’s getting angry when she tries to help him hold a glass of water to his mouth, etc.  I sent a box of Hydralite tubes back with her for John to suck on. unfortunately he made her promise some months ago, not to have him put into care if he detiriorated. Now she feels she can’t ring someone for help and break that promise.  I really think he won’t last more than a couple of days.

In the meantime our grandson has managed to get a job for the first time ever and starts today. He’s panicking about his first day. I can’t imagine how she is coping. The drive yesterday with Canuck - 1.5 hours each way would have exhausted me.

I think I’ve offloaded enough trouble and stress for now. Thanks for being there folks.

Oh bless you Pat. That's a lot to have on your mind. Your daughter is a very good friend yo her neighbour. I hope his passing is easy, for both their sakes. ((Hugs))

I went to bed early and  now I've found myself wide awake. I've made myself a warm drink and will noodle on here for a bit
