Well my back is still twingeing from emptying the compost heap. Its had ibuprofen tablets and some gel rubbed in. The weeds are growing at a pace. I have pricked out 3 doz stocks, and five doz apricot statice. The first batch of sweet peas have been out all day, but in the polytunnel tonight. I noticed only 6 have germinated out of 20  Champagne bubbles.  The second batch all had an overnight soak before sowing.  I think I could probably do with the same, not overnight, just an hour or so.

OH came back from walkies and decided a beer was in order sat out on the bench at the front while I carried on baking cakes - banana, ginger and almond (gluten free); carrot, apple and cinnamon (dairy free) and coconut rough cake with chocolate chips - and watered all my treasures while the last one baked.  Too hot to bother with dinner so we've had wholemeal baguette with smoked salmon and a bit of salad.

Watched GW a bit late and OH started asking about plants - have we got that?  Did we have that? so there's hope.   I do like Adam Frost in all his guises.   Lovely chap and I enjoyed the bit on daffs too but I thought the two spring pots with chappy just looked tatty and too busy.  Sometimes less is more.

Bed soon.  Up early tomorrow to take the cakes and the decorated wine boxes for setting up.   Been priming OH for a good HRT session.

FG - it's got fruit in it!  Healthy cake.

Is it Adam Frost doing the voice over for Morrisons wonky veg range? Have a listen and see what you think.

Don't forget the exercises Fairy  :)
Has BL been about today?  Wonder how her back is ...
It's amazing, sciatica has gone as suddenly as it came. Feels great to feel normal. Have weeded the rockery bank and the gravelled parking area in front of the cottage. We also went and strolled in the sunshine around a couple of villages we hadn't been to before.

Agree totally Obelixx, those spring pots looked terrible.

It is nice to see a proper garden designers take on approaching a new garden.

    Good morning all  :)
those exercises have always sorted sciatica out for me BL, freeing up the trapped nerve and keeping the lower back flexible. Hope they continue to work for you.  :)
Overcast here this morning but still dry and warm.
Now I need to catch up with what went on yesterday ...

Morning all, afternoon Pat, it's been yonks since I've has a minute to post on here so sorry for my poor attendance!
Glad to hear the good weather seems to have finally reached us all! Driving around the countryside delivering to farms, I've noticed that daffodils, primroses and cowslips are all blooming at the same time, doesn't usually happen like that here! Absolutely nothing planned for the while weekend, my idea of heaven! Got pallets to make planters, seeds to sow, seedlings to prick out and two cats eager to help!
Pdoc, glad you are getting some time in the sun, I love watching things grow😀 and you can really notice the difference after a few days sun!
Welcome back Fairy!! Sorry to hear about your tumble but glad your back on the mend! Xx
Have a lovely day all 😊
