    Hello all.
Cold, wet and windy. Max forecast today is 5°. Son said it's cold and wet in France too. We go back tomorrow and it will be fairly sunny, 13° and getting warmer during the week. Maybe I'll be able to do some gardening!

OH has gone to Specsavers in Norwich to order more glasses. Can't understand why he doesn't go to the more local one. I have been ironing bedding in front of the TV while he's out.

Hope you are feeling strong, Chicky!

I do have a coat at the cottage but it's not as warm as the one I left in France. Doesn't matter in winter as I travel in the warm one. Just wasn't expecting it to be this cold at the end of April.

Thermal vests then?  No rain forecast here and we may get to the giddy heights if 13C by Thursday.   Humph!

  • Hello all,

Had a busy couple of days and lost track of you all again, did manage to catch up a bit, but you all chat faster than I get an opportunity to read. Caught Papa Womble had an accident but ok, hope he continues to recover, saw Hosta had a cushy swift swap.  : :) Loved the pile of 'black gold', I'm waiting for mine, but not looking forward to the long haul down to the flower beds. Labourers came but I have since sacked them, too much talk, not enough effort, better off on my own. I do have a proper gardener coming once a week to do the grass and general tidy, although it's rained since I asked him so not seen how good he is yet, I'm sure he'll be fine, seems a very nice chap.

Saw Punkdoc was not well but missed what he's down with? My very best wishes to him anyway.
Poor you Lizzie with no proper coat, it is an excuse to perhaps buy a new one.  ;)

I am going to post on my other thread as looking for further advice on a stong climbing rose, but not a once only flowering type. Tearoom busy as the weather has changed, done about 40 or 50 English breakfast since Saturday, it was all ice creams last week!  :o Sun trying to make a breakthrough now though.

Got a few little niggly personal issues going on here, nothing serious but just having to be careful, ex husband trying to be helpful and kind, but if I give an inch he takes a mile, no such thing as a free lunch as it were. Also someone in the cafe has been gosssiping about a friend and it's managed to get all the way back to the UK, it's very hurtful, I'm sure untrue in the main, more miscommunication than anything but of course she is very upset by it and I have sort of ended up as piggy in the middle as I know both parties. Treading very carefully, don't like it. :(

I hope you all manage to see some sun too, I will try & keep up. :)

I've been in the kitchen doing the pricking out ... the babies are in the studio ... it's too cold in the little greenhouse

Looking good.  I need to pot on too and prick out some San thingy toms but it's too cold to tempt me out today apart from walkies.  I've been doing patchwork homework and cutting out a top instead and have washed some linen fabric to pre-shrink it prior to cutting out summer pants and a top.

May Day plant fair tomorrow at Le Beugnon so I hope the weather improves!

The sun has opened the pulsatilla flowers today.  Much later in flowering this year.

@Dovefromabove, I've uninstalled / reinstalled Garmin and hit "update" 3 times now but it doesn't finish the update completely. I've emailed them to see if they can give any additional advice. I'll keep you posted.
