Don’t laugh too much but when my peonies are about to open and rain is expected I put old umbrella heads opened up and attached to posts over them. They are so delicate a shower can ruin them. This has saved my flowers many time, it’s my umbrella heads that need replaced now !

Look who has just about given me a heart attack popping up on the window and screeching at me! I think he was telling me the bird feeders are empty!

Right chancers aren't they LP?  Frilly chickens :D
My peony's a long way from flowering - it's about 6 inches high just now! That's the problem with nice blousy flowery plants in April and May - [tulips are the same] they get annihilated by weather. Mine is against the house wall and has a nice support, so it should be ok when it eventually appears...
Been right chilly today here - [ just made double figures - 5 overnight ] heavy showers and cold wind. Seems a bit calmer now though. The little blue tits have been very busy at the feeders.
Did you watch the Nevis programme Joyce? Dave MacLeod is quite bonkers - but absolutely astonishing. Nice to see a little bit of Finlay Wild too. Lovely guy.
Just been watching the prog about Edwin Landseer. Nice bits of our landscape  :)

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

@Fairy, Landseer programme was recorded for weekend viewing.
Was just thinking last night that that was one climb you would not be doing even with out the arm waving!!!

Quite incredible wasn't it! Ice climbers are all slightly bonkers though. Don't know if you saw the photos of the ice climbers doing the Steall Falls during winter when it was completely frozen. Really terrific.
I fancied going to Kinlochleven to get a lesson or two on the climbing wall, but that's going to have to wait for a while!  :D
