We’ve got a new series of Who do you think you are -  Australia. First episode tonight is Noni Hazelhurst.

Hadn't heard of her, Pat, but have looked her up - I used to watch The Sullivans at lunchtimes home from primary school in the 70s. Not sure I'd recognise anyone from the series now though! Did you ever see the Craig Revel Horwood episode of WDYTYA? Really interesting, I thought (mind you, there's rarely a duff episode imo).

I've just done a past paper in preparation for my mock exam tomorrow. Not as bad as I feared,  though I definitely need to swot up on my hanging basket plants - naming 5 in botanical Latin was a real struggle!

Tomorrow I go for my 6monthly check up for my eyes but I have drops in and the tests takes 2hrs with all his different machines, so that is a wasted day. I have taken my bird feeders down as I have had 2 mice and one rat visiting and I think it was Dove who says take them down for a couple of days,I hope they dont come back again. Our grandaughter has just go a teachering job after coming back from China 6 months ago .

Morning folks, Grey and miserable here.  Didn't get any sleep last night as I was worrying about the court case.  Gave up in the end and got up to write the offer letter we need to send.  Will get it in the post today and then another fortnight worrying whether they will accept it.

Good to hear from you Pdoc.
    Great photo Chicky.

Harrumph!  Well, that was a slightly more expensive trip than I'd bargained for ... but I suppose it could've been worse .......

£70 in the GC on compost, Fish Blood & Bone and various necessary incidentals ... sweet pea plants had sticky labels, some windowsill trays for the seedlings to save the paintwork  ... that sort of thing ........... then to the SM for some smoked haddock for a quiche ....... and as I reversed slowly out of my parking space the car behind me was doing the same ... think we were both in each other's blind spots and as we were at an angle the Reversing Bleeper didn't register her car until my bumper slid along her bumper ... not a mark on my car but the paint on her bumper bubbled up and flaked ... fortunately she was a sensible woman of 'around 27' who was very happy with my offer of £50 to get some touch up paint and pay someone a few pounds to spray it on for her.  Phew!  It was one of those 50:50 things, but her car came off worse ... Lola is built like a tank.

You can run into my car, any time you like  :):)

How sad am I? Have been tracking the van delivering some plants for the last half hour, was standing outside waiting as he came down the drive.

You bring it down to Norfolk Pdoc, and I may well oblige  ;)

I'm just glad she didn't demand insurance details ... they'd probably have insisted on a new bumper!  She didn't even want my name ......  B)

  • Had a none day yesterday, went to see a physio. re my "good" poorly ankle. I was expecting her to say it was just arthritis and not a lot could be done for me but I have a damaged Achilles tendon so electrical treatment, strapping and specific exercises, fingers crossed it will mend.

It was lovely to walk out not feeling my left ankle, went to the local GC to celebrate but they were practically cleared out of plugs. They had staged a wonderful display of wallflowers, banks of them, and also pansies. The scent on the air was to die for. I resisted buying them all and settled for a few basket plugs in not the colours I really wanted.

Today is a washout with gales and rain so opted for trying out a Marmalade Cake. A friend raved about some they had eaten. It is apparently a Scottish cake and so far looks great and smells even better. Cann't wait for cup of tea time to try it. Daren't cut it yet as it is still too hot.
