Thanks. I really love the coreopsis - my first ever go. And diascia Juliet Red - such a wonderful dark cherry colour, hard to find. Subtle.
I can't wait for my SPs to get going. I've pinched them out a fair bit, so they are later and hopefully bushier. I have done so many succession seedings (lots lost to slugs) that I have no idea what colour they are going to be. Def'ly more purple than I thought. I hope lots of white and red too. At the moment I could fill my gardens with ammi and not much else. I swoon with it.
AR, I did have a problem getting them going, but once sturdy they have been untouched. I lost the first lot I put in the ground, but the second lot were fine, being kept in pots until May until they were big enough to survive. Sarah Raven says the best way is to sow direct in August, as the evenings get cooler and there's more dew about. You get much bigger, taller, more robust plants in the spring, she says. Mine are growing well, about 3-4 ft and hopefully will keep going.
The name is 'Mercury Rising'. As ever, it's pink rather than red. No really what I was hoping for. I think your Gaillardia is more what I was hoping for.
