Hi @Janie B- the one with purple outer petals is an Aquilegia of some sort - they are shorter and more ornate than the others I grow, which are not quite in flower yet.

Think it might be Aquilegia flabellata Mini Star.

Thanks @Yviestevie - it was here when I moved. In fact, it’s on my ‘beach’ area next to the pond - and because I didn’t weed avidly when I moved in I was rewarded with it.

Lovely to see this thread again - it was really enjoyable last year  :)
Hope to contribute soon, and we 're also still at the 'daffs' and species tulips stage here. I've had some picked for the house, but haven't taken any pix of them though.

Liri - I automatically resize all my photos to around 1MB or so. Most of mine are  4 or 5 MB at least, but they don't load properly. I lost the windows photo editor that the 'pooter came with, but I've downloaded a free one called Photoscape [very easy to use] which I now use for editing/sharpening/resizing etc  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Lovely posy @pitter-patter
Last year I used to put my jam jar posy on the kitchen table to enjoy, but now I have two cats it wouldn’t last five minutes (plus so many plants are toxic to cats unfortunately) so now it goes on the mantelpiece where they can’t reach.
Looking forward to seeing more posies...

Thank you @AuntyRach. I really enjoy making small flower arrangements for the table. I don’t have any pets (though I would really like a cat), so the flowers can stay on the table until they are replaced by fresh ones.

My jamjar flowers take up residence on the dining table for my mum to enjoy.  She's almost blind, so from the window she can only see blobs of colour.  And she doesn't go out in the garden much as she's afraid of falling.  That clematis smells gorgeous, as does the pheasant eye narcissus.  The photobombers are my avatar Oswald and his little pal Hector.  They've got two new friends, whose picture I've posted elsewhere in the Potting Shed.
