Watched part one of the ABC murders, thought it a load of rubbish, poor Agatha would turn in her grave! Whoever did the casting needs to look for another job! Whoever saw a 6’ German speaking Poirot, And the sound! What’s with all the whooshing noises, and drum tapping. I think the BBC has really let themselves down this year.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I seem to have spent most of this Christmas watching "old " TV, Only Fools and Horses, The Good Life etc. When it was first shown, l liked OFAH, but didn't think it was that special. Now it's like a beacon in the darkness! The ABC murders was the only Agatha Christie novel that l'd ever read, and l liked the David Suchet version. I think the BBC have just become obsessed with putting a new twist on everything, and of course they need to tick their diversity boxes.
Watched all episodes today as I’m thinking of exploring Italy with the family holidays this year; February skiing, Easter in Puglia, Summer in Tuscany...well I can dream anyway
Its not a hardcore gardening show, it’s gardening tourism with a bit of history. I suppose it’s a little ironic but as much as I love Italian gardens, I don’t like all the hedging and topiary(!)

I've just watched the first episode and didn't hear any whooshing noises and drum tapping. I thought that it was good and they can't stay with one version. It's like everything else, there's always more than one version.
Tinpot, if you are thinking of Italy then what about the Italian lakes? I've been to Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore. There is glorious scenery as well as lovely gardens. But we went end of season to avoid the crowds.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
After the disturbing Luther series, another crime/murder drama for those who enjoy that sort of thing: Manhunt ITV 9pm - first episode yesterday and then for the next two nights (a lá Luther). Also a shout out to Ch4 Sundays at 9pm: SAS Who Dares Wins. This series features female recruits, for the first time, which is in line with the new ‘rules’ in the real SAS.

I liked the show.
I agree, Hosta!
