Yes @LG the TV series first aired in 96. But like you I also loved the book. I've read it twice. I might revisit his debut 'The Wasp Factory' sometime soon.
I've just watched the first programme and it's only Joe McFadden's recollections, none of the other actors (like it said in my TV magazine!) but really enjoyable nevertheless.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
Detectorists is my happy place @Valleysgirl.... Learnt ballet and tap in that very scout hut... Drank in all those pubs as a teen and family friends were two of the ramblers in the last series..... So beautifully written and filmed... Such care taken... Such subtly that I notice something new every time I rewatch! Makes all of Christmas worth while for me... Enjoy!
I think it sounds like we are indeed on the same wavelength @Valleysgirl...😀 It's a good wavelength to be on...👍 Wishing you a wonderful Christmas but a treasure filled boxing day! X
I sat my ‘O’ levels in that scout hut 😰 and had the first of many incidents with a vaulting horse 😱
Sadly it’s recently been demolished and replaced with something that doesn’t let the rain in. I get the need, but it’s still sad that it’s not there 😢
As @WonkyWomble says … that was our old stamping ground … I know the insides of many of the houses we see … and the potato crates are from my brother’s farm 😆
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
