New series about contemporary garden designs around the world, The Art of the Garden, starts on Sky Arts (Freeview) at 7 pm this evening. The first one is about a Dan Pearson designed garden at Lowther Castle, apparently inspired by the gardens at Ninfa near Rome.
Thank you for that recommendation Jemula, I enjoyed it. I like Dan Pearson's ideas. I remember driving up to the castle before any work had been done and how sad it all looked now though the transformation is amazing in a laid back sort of way. It's lovely.
Yes, thanks for the Art of the Garden recommendation - I would never have known about it otherwise. Looks great, though I haven't watched it yet - one for catch up.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Thanks Uff and LG. I enjoyed it too - it does sit beautifully in the landscape now and interesting that the owner is gradually rewilding the rest of the estate. Looking forward to the rest of the series with the other designers. Have always wanted to visit the gardens at Ninfa.
