  • Sweet dreams Pat.....

Reading all the comments about sponsorship .....the amounts are peanuts compared to the ludicrous amounts on money involved in football....apart from the prima donnas on the pitch .....the failed managers who constantly walk away from clubs with millions of pounds in payoffs image

I believe badminton lost its funding after failing to win expected medals.  Totally agree about maximum participation rather than maximum medals and find football economy obscene.

Still sunny here and, since the kitchen no longer looks like a bombsite I'm free to go and potter outside.   I can only get Rustler sweetcorn here so far but will be trying a range of tomatoes.   No idea what's out there but I already have seeds of  Abraham Lincoln, Ailsa Craig, Beefsteak, Black Russian,,Golden Sunrise, Green Zebra, Harbinger, Rosella, San Marzano and Tumbling Tom.   Remind me not to succumb at the spring plant fairs.........

Fidget - I sowed sweet peas last March and they ground to a halt during the drought so I didn't pot them up till late July.  They then grew well and flowered in September and, amazingly, have made it thru winter and are putting on new growth.  If you can sow some late and keep them from bolting then bring them into the sun in late August or so you might get some flowers for September.

    Here's the pond this morning.
