Lots of locally caught fish and shellfish near our new home on the Atlantic coast but neither of us wants to go near a "plateau de fruits de mer" cos it's mostly oysters and stuff that looks like snails. There are oyster beds along the coast and also "moules de bouchot" which are smaller and tastier than the flabby Zeeland mussels eaten widely in Belgium. Trouble is, they're so tasty I was having them once a week instead of once a year and that did for my hands. Hope the turmeric will sort that out.
Local hake for dinner tonight with tomatoes, chick peas and Ras-el-Hanout. Yum.

if anyone who is a regular on this thread ever gets into difficulty, weather related or not, on the M74 please PM me if it’s possible and safe to do so
we are two miles off the motorway and always offer shelter, specially to Forkers! It can be pretty wild on this stretch.

I love pancakes and will be flipping a batch tomorrow. I am a big fan of sugar and lemon so would happily just have those, but I usually offer choc spread, maple syrup, marshmallows and soft fruits. If any little people are around, we usually make 'faces' on the pancakes with blueberries, marshmallows etc.
I like the sugar and lemon best of all too, with maple syrup and a dollop of cream a close second. We'll be having savoury pancakes as well, with ham and cheese ... this year I've got some slices of Port Salut and some very good smoked ham.
Not desperately healthy but we've had lots of fruit and veg lately and OH says he's making us Poke Bowls for Valentines Day supper so that'll be super healthy too

It's a Hawaiian import. Supposed to be very healthy and full of fresh raw veg, salad, rice, oriental seasonings such as ginger, sesame and teryaki and then fish. I've seen it described as a cross between Japanese and Peruvian cuisine...................

LillyP ((hugs)) what a lovely person you are. We're rarely up your way but if we are we'll certainly keep your offer in mind
Who's making pancakes tomorrow?
What are you putting in them?

Aha! I was slightly hoping that it was a typo! Sounds interesting...
