Morning all, beautiful hazy faint sunshine promising here afternoon Pat
Had a quick read back, glad Lilyp, Lirio and BusyL had nice trips, Hosta, hope your making the most of the sun! X
Fidget, can't thank you enough for taking us on holiday with you! First time my OH has ever been interested in anything on this forum!
Sad week this week, lost a very close friend suddenly Wednesday night, making the most of life and people in it is the theme for me. Its also made me evaluate my own health and have come to the conclusion that my job is breaking my body.
So up and off early today to get a posh new hair style so I can look for something less gardening style
Have arrived in Paris which is grey and murky and has far too many people! Montparnasse station and metro in general absolutely heaving. Made my way to hotel near Pigalle and unpacked listening to DI discs podcast with Bruno T. Now off to explore a bit before Possum gets here at about 7pm. Montmartre should be walking distance for me now my toes are improving.
Pat - Jessie looks happy and engaged. Not moping. Good.
Dove - how lovely for you and also for that chap to find a good home for his wife's stuff.
Wonky - good luck with the job hunt. Definitely need something less knackering but also satisfying. Make sure you take a high enough dose of the curcuma/turmeric.
Tara for now.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

riding along in a snowmobile.... well it was asking for trouble. I've got a stinking cold. I started with a sore throat and migraine and sweating, now a streaming cold. Good job I packed half a pharmacy . I should manage until I get home tomorrow. I would drown it in alcohol, but at £10 a shot, I've gone all methodist after Dad's side of the family. Mum's side (the ones who had a pub in the family for nearly a 100 years) will kick in around 11 tomorrow night I suspect.
Isn't Paris flooding at the moment? I read they evacuated the ground floor of the louvre. It sounds like you need wellies on, Obelixx
Hard luck, Fidget. At least the cold held off until near the end of the trip... I've just found your photos, and they're amazing! I guess that will have been a really memorable holiday.
Wonky, so sad about your friend. Hugs from me... You're so right - one life, grab it with both hands...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Ive just seen tv footage of the Seine flooding bridges and underground railways etc. hope you found some high ground Obelixx. And, yes Jessie is having lots of fun. She accompanied me all over the place so we got lots of exercise yesterday. We’re going to town shortly for food that we’ve run out of. But because of the heat we are leaving her home - too hot left in cars. Not sure how she’ll feel about that, but at least she’ll be comfortable inside.
