Morning again to everyone who's arrived ... get well soon LG..
Lamb rogan josh is chuntering away slowly ... I'll turn it off in a minute and it'll carry on cooking for a while in the retained heat of the heavy cast iron pot and all I'll have to do this evening is heat it up and cook some rice.
I've been out to refill all the bird feeders and they're very grateful ... there was ice on the bird bath and the grass was crispy in patches and the rest was just soggy ......... think it's a day to get on with indoor stuff.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
No hibernating today. We have sunshine! Up at 9am, one coffee and then cracked on with dismantling Xmas with just a bit of help form kitties. Now on cleaning but I don't mind as I have my living room back.
OH has been tidying up all the rubble that fell from the barn wall and is now fixing a mesh to the well top so he can attach the trumpet vine which was blown all over this show by Carmen. We cut it back to ground level last winter and then had loads of growth but no flowers last summer so we're assuming it flowers on old growth. If not, it's a goner. Looks more like long straw at the mo.
I'm sure you can dose on the beach if needs be Hosta. DL - no chance of a fire here. It's so warm I've just turned down the living room radiator. Used to know a woman witha Great Dane who'd bring it to horse riding meets so it could play with a resident Jack Russell. Great fun when it dived under tables in the bar. Too young and stupid to realise he was too big........taller than the tables! Oops!
Pat - I can do 33C as long as it's not humid. Good news about the wrist improving.
Pdoc - good luck with the exams. Hope you are feeling better generally.
LG - I had to prop up my Billy shelves to stop them falling under the weight of my books. I now have them on a proper solid pine bookshelf, also from IKEA, and bought, assembled and painted 20+ years ago. Found it in the bargains corner for about 10 quid. Hope you feel better soon.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hostafan , there is a Shooping Centre in Spalding Lincolnshire , that has a very good Garden Centre attached and landscaped gardens , obviously the gardens are outside !
Yes Hosta...agree with PD .......rubbing our noses in it ........I just got back from a truly miserable walk in the forest .....everything melted and slushy .....sleet falling ....the Whippet doesn't know it's born......used to living in a tiny apartment in Moscow ....running like a rocket .....bowled over a very peeded off Yorkie more than once ....so now lying in bed also on the trusty PC......the others have stayed out a bit longer ....ahh peace and quiet at last
OH has been pottering outside doing odd jobs and says there are lots of buds about and the garlic and onions I planted are now shooting.. Feels spring-like here today so I hope nothing gets a nasty surprise later on.
Meanwhile I am still on what feels like spring cleaning.........
Did my late morning lying in in December but feel the need to be up and at 'em this week for some reason. Even my toes are feeling perky after yesterday's workout.
Should go and sew but I'm off outside after I've had my coffee.
Never been to Spalding.

I have to admit that I didn’t get up until 10 am then had a bowl of cereal, turned on the soaker hoses, came back in and watched a video on painting a cloudy sky, then woke up a couple of hours later, still sprawled on the lounge chair. This is after a full night of sleep, I must admit. Must be getting older.
we had a visit from Regina tonight, Joyce, and she only left at midnight. I’m going to sleep NOW!

Busy - hibernating a lot this winter. Due more to not seeing the point in getting up when the weather is miserable rather then to age.
Roll on bright spring mornings.
Hi all.
Being very lazy here, still in bed using OH's laptop.
You can go off people, Hosta

Oh dear Pat! Just as well you had a sleep before she came.
Hope you sleep well Pat. I'd be thinking up ways to stop her coming or make her leave earlier and that would keep me awake.
