    Morning all.

Mercifully no traumas here. I hope the weather sorts itself out for , poorly folks are soon on the mend and neighbours start to behave.

Right, I'm afraid I have some bad news. Our delight at seeing our friend was brought to a halt when he told us his daughter died 4 days after we left last month. I have to say, he's coping better than I would under the same circumstances. Anyway, no more bad news from me. Onwards and upwards.

We brought a load of seeds / clothes with us and they are all being warmly received.

We're still getting lots of " hello..... nice to see you back " from folk we don't know.

It's very quiet here and the plane was only about 75% full . Most odd.

Hubby's finger is healing now he's taken the dressing off. He's very lucky he didn't lose half of it. Horrific looking wound. I could only look at it yesterday ( 10 days after the incident with the axe image )

I'm thinking of lots of gardening project as I lie by the pool. Does that count as gardening??

    Devon.

    Lily Pilly says:

    Thanks this is all helpful

great Nan a lives too far away for her to revisit. Nanny tho is still with her. Maybe she could take a photo and send it

    See original post

Yes, and maybe a short phone call?  Maybe saying thanks to Little One for helping to look after her image

Perhaps Little One could make a Get Well card for Gt Nanny and post it?  and then a Thank You card from Gt Nanny so there's new stuff happening ... that'll put the event in the past for her.

Dove, clearly he couldn't have my 999 paramedic call out hog the christmas limelight, so he had to stick an axe in his finger to take centre stage.

    Good advice re "little one"

    Morning all.

More rain in the night. I'm up the hill so it won't affect me. I remember one year, but ages ago, when the river flooded the football pitch, crossed the road and flooded the village school, but I think that was because a damn broke.

So sad about the little girl, Hosta image

My OH managed to cut halfway through his thumb with a table saw a few years ago. The scar still gives me the heebeegeebees.

Hope your wrist heals quickly Pat - have you got any arnica gel? It really does help if it's bruised where you fell on it.

It's stopped raining for now but still blowing a hooley - everything whistling and banging image. I managed to get the outside Christmas lights down in a brief lull in the weather yesterday afternoon - they were getting ripped and banged about. And now I've got to take my slightly unstable 3 legged dog for a walk somewhere he won't be being blown over every 5 minutes .....

    Hello all.

Very sad news about the little girl, Hosta... but good that The Finger is healing.  Hope you have a lovely time dreaming of garden projects.  image

Dove, your advice for LilyP to help the 4-year-old get over her trauma sounds to me (with no personal experience) to be spot on.  LilyP, hope she's calmer very soon, and great Nan back to full health.

There's still a Met Office yellow warning for wind here, but it's pretty calm at the moment.  We've just got back from our damp park walk, enlivened by the opportunity to do some diversion of "accidental" streams which were scouring their way through the gravel paths.  Waterproof walking shoes are very useful - as is OH's stick...  we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and told each other we weren't playing, because it was for the public good!  Later we met a park employee who was trying to rod out some of the Victorian drainage system, and told him what we'd been doing.  He approved...  image

i think there might be some arnica stuff in a cupboard somewhere. I’ll have a dig around tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.

i can’t get over the coincidence of having only recently started up with the U3A group for Ukelele!  Not much point in following it up for a while.

This one finger typing is driving me crazy.

Oh Hosta that is so sad. Glad oh s finger healing. Nasty injury

Pat when mum broke her ankles I put her on arnica and the district nurse was amazed at the healing

thank you everyone for advice.    poor wee child thought she had killed her. With childish honesty she voiced worry about her best dress which she was wearing at the time so they have taken it to the cleaners together  if the dress can be fixed, so can great nana  (In a four years olds eyes!)

Taken all the decorations down and repacked into fresh boxes all labelled. How’s that for efficiency?!

Oh bless her ((hugs)) for her and everyone concerned ... I expect Great Nana's dress needs cleaning too ... or maybe  shopping trips to buy new frocks to celebrate Gt Nana's recovery and an exchange of photos image  Turning the fright and worry into something nice is the way forward image

Pat ... arnica is brilliant ... I got some for son when he had a footballing injury ... most of the team bought some when they saw how good it is.
