Our friends at the riding school opposite our Belgian home automatically gave oral arnica as well as gel for any bruises when people fell off.   It was also part of the required equipment when Possum went off on riding events.  We keep some in our medicine cupboard now.  Hope your wrist recovers soon Pat.

Good advice for that wee girl Dove.   Shame about your wee girl Hosta.  Well done Liri - practical mud pies!

Still windy here but dry for now.  Shopping accomplished.  We snuck down that road anyway and the power cables are literally tied up with string - well, that red and white plastic tape they use to warn of danger.   Interesting.

I suggested to OH that we take down our decs this pm but he insists we wait for 12th night so I've told him to plan a cleaning blitz too and no distractions.   Poor chap is a bit stir crazy as he can't get out and garden or play golf.  Suggested he lurk in the barn and do some chipping but I need to check that wall and roof beam for myself first.   He's checking his dance notes first.........

Good luck to anyone forced to venture out.  Hope you find a quiet spot for walkies RG.

All our Christmas decorations are down and the house has had a good seeing to ... that is, with the exception of a little robin who wears a Christmas hat and scarf ... he'll remain on the book case until tomorrow evening ... that's our nod to tradition image

    Hi all.

Spent the day, leafing through seed catalogues, always a fun activity, now just need to reduce the number of packets by about 50%.

I wonder whether Arnica would work for me?image

What are you thinking of growing Pdoc?    Flowers or veg or both?

Seems a shame.  Some veg are very decorative and fresh from the garden is several days fresher than the freshest at the SM.

What new flowers do you fancy trying then?

I am to FaceTime four year old who was visiting her great nanny yesterday, there was an accident and little one was covered in great nans blood. She is deeply traumatised.  Any one any ideas how to treat this?  The ambulance men talked to her but daughter said she was screaming during the night

Do we have any child psychologists here?

Lili , so sad , I believe I mentioned before that my wife is a child psychologist and I mentioned this situation to her . She has seen many similar traumatic cases here in Russia. She mentioned that the most important thing is not to appear to overreact with the wee one , try to get her back to her usual routines ASAP, don't be over protective all of a sudden as this will just make her link the experience inappropriately .

I hope the little girl will sleep better now she realises she didn't kill great Nanny and it wasn't her fault.

I hadn't read any posts when I popped in to say good morning.

I used to take Arnica when I went skiing, never thought about it for riding. But I was scared of skiing, first OH loved it, and I wasn't scared of riding! Going out riding you have your horse friend and companion with you.

Have managed to make one cushion cover with piping, going very slowly, had to look it up on You Tube to refresh my memory. I made some for our cottage in Norfolk and have forgotten already.

Riding school pupils have a habit of falling off Busy, especially during pony games, jumping and cross country.   Arnica is a godsend for them.   The other thing Colette insists on is that anyone who falls off in class has to bring cake the next time.

Don't think I've ever piped a cushion cover.  Well done you.   I'm busy trying to work out how to make a handbag for Possum that will be big enough for her portable PC.  trouble is, there are pattern pieces missing from the envelope and they are, of course, the ones I need.  Never made it before so must be a manufacturer's mistake.    Let the fun begin then.
