    Morning all.

Think we are hibernating, staying in bed longer and longer in the morning, reading and drinking tea or coffee. Got up at 10.30am.

    Must take tree down today.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Morning all.

2 consecutive nights of very poor sleep. image

Still, the weather is divine so I'm not complaining as I've not really got much to do anyway.

I rather like Ikea, we bought a load of stuff there 20 years ago for bedroom and sitting room. All still in good nick even after a house move. I don't think we've been in on since then.

Shopping "malls" ( I do so hate that american import word. When did they stop being "shopping centres"?) are hell. They have nothing there I want to buy, i.e. nothing with roots attached.

Another day by the beach for us.

Punkdoc, good luck with insurance and OU. I hope the distraction is keeping your mind sharp and focused from being poorly.

    Devon.
  • Ob , know what you mean .....the fire has been blazing here non stop as many of the visitors rarely see them ....but the outside temp is unseasonably mild so too hot for me image

Our latest guests have brought their pet Whippet with them ....lovely little creature but a freaking nightmare .....running around like a blue arse fly and driving our poor Yorkie mad.....image

Hosta .....the beach sounds like a wonderful idea.....wish I could just teleport myself to a secluded one anywhere......hope you manage to get some sleep there image

Glad you're warm and relaxed, Hosta, but sorry the sleep is no better.

I have rather more IKEA stuff than I should, but every time I need something, they seem to have *exactly* the thing. I find some of their stuff very good quality (the kitchen in our old house, for instance - and I've heard of many kitchen fitters rating them very highly). Other stuff is more ephemeral, which tends to reflect the price. Next to me is one of their cheaper leather sofas which is about 9 or 10 years old. Apart from a small pen mark (grrr) it's pretty much as good as new, which is not bad with two kids and their friends piling on it all the time. And yes, the heavy cookbooks and gardening books have slightly bowed their bit of Billy, but not too badly and short of a custom-made solid wood unit, I don't think I could have got anything to fit the space better. I also LOVE putting together flatpacks image.

Shopping centres don't do it for me, but then I don't really like shopping, apart from home and garden stuff, so they're not really meant to be for me anyway.

Should be in the garden, but still not very well so probably won't be.
