    Indeed so Obs.

    He's fine.

Clearly he couldn't possibly have me win the " who is the most poorly" with a mere 999 call out so he had to stick an axe in his hand to trump me. image

We're going to open our pressies after breakfast.

I had given up hoping that someone would post something, so have only now turned back on again. image

    Hello all.

i managed to do more than my 6000 steps today. It was below 30 c and very pleasant, so got lots done in the garden for a change.

Off to bed now, so I’ll catch you all tomorrow.

  • Boxing Day greetings everyone.  image  Our Christmas was quiet but happy.

Hope today is much better for both of you, Hosta.  Yesterday definitely sounds like a day to forget...

The roofer has promised to come "after Christmas", but overnight snow has made a new leak appear in the ceiling above the spare bed...  image  Daughter and SIL are due to be sleeping there from tomorrow.  Fortunately we have a bed settee in the living room, if it's still dripping by then; they might find the gentle "plop" of drips into buckets soothing, of course, but... possibly not.

OH is planning a not-very-high-level driving route to watch the football this afternoon at Bradford.  Not sure if the roads will have been gritted today...

Good morning all. Let us hope there are no more tales of illness, hospitals, house dramas or any other health and safety woes!

Quite possibly will spend the day in pyjamas, as no visitors, visiting or outings planned. Just had smoked salmon and scrambled egg brunch, so that should tide me over until steak dinner later (well ok, apart from a few snacks!)

    Behave everyone!

Would normally be a quiet schleppy day here too but I have been out to get the dodgy toes X-rayed.   Turns out the hospital is a huge complex with in the grounds of a former abbey or something so lots of gorgeous old stone buildings which are now an old people's home and care centre and my satnav took me in that end so I ended up walking miles to the newer, modern bit.   Limped out afterwards.

Home eventually via detours caused by tree trimming after strong winds last night and now sorting out fabrics for Possum's wardrobe.  She has an internship which involves going to the EU for meetings and so on and needs formal grey, navy and/or black office wear.  No colour for her.  Going to need a trip to a fabric shop as I don't do dull formal any more.  I'm on hols for the rest of my life!

Still very blowy here and has been wet but warm at 12C earlier.

I hope hubby's injury isn't too severe Hosta and that he will be more careful with axes in future.  Rasta has learned her lesson and is now very wary of finding any coypu in the hedgerows.  Her face is healing well tho and she's very giddy at home and loves her new toy pig.

Enjoy the day folks.  Never know what is round the corner but let's hope it's good.

    Afternoon all.

No new dramas to report. I even managed to walk to the polytunnel.

A very restful afternoon catching on up Gogglebox ( RIP Leon ) and christmas First Dates which , I'd have to say, was the most heart-warming hour of telly I've watched in a very long time. Much blubbing from me.

I've just spoken to Lyn . She's well, but has a houseful of visitors so I'll have to have a proper natter another time.

Opened my pressies and I thought you might like to see this one.
